Movement Arts Center, home of the new GALLERY 3609, future site of Multidisciplinary Arts Experiences
Come and sample original experimental music, dance, theater, poetry, video and performance art all in one evening at the Movement Arts Center's new Gallery 3609. Gallery 3609 housed in the Movement Arts Center (MAC) is located at 3609 Medina Road, at Reserve Square in Cleveland, OH 44107. Call 440-668-6500 for more information.
Gallery 3609 and the MAC will host an ongoing series of informal evenings entitled "Weekend Warm-ups," offering local, regional, national as well as international artists an opportunity to showcase artwork to a diverse and open audience in a casual, social and creative atmosphere.
The gallery space within the MAC lends itself to creative opportunities in an existing 4800 sq. ft. dance/alternative performance facility. The center showcases two existing dance studios, which will be used in conjunction with the events planned in the 500 sq.ft. gallery. The MAC currently offers exceptional dance training (Vaganova ballet technique) for students beginning at age three. More dance disciplines, including Latin/Salsa styles are planned.
Gallery 3609 is dedicated to the propagation of all forms of visual art, supporting local, international, emerging and established artists.
Director Richard Graber feels this sort of event, coupled with their respective admirers and supporters, has the potential to create dialogue and invaluable fusion with memorable arts experiences for all who partake from many diverse communities. With that in mind, Graber will also be seeking out poets, performance artists, musicians, dancers and more to showcase their talents for the series of events that are planned.
The grand opening exhibit is scheduled for May 2005 - more information to follow.
The gallery functions as a nonprofit entity with fiscal agency maintained through Csárdás Dance Company, the nonprofit umbrella organization for the Movement Arts Center.
